Smart water metering · Hyderabad

Accurate meters. Honest water bills.

Neerix replaces ageing mechanical meters with certified ultrasonic smart meters, reads them wirelessly, and bills every home fairly — one charge per home, however many inlets it has.

Most communities are billing on meters that under-read

Water gets used but not measured — and the shortfall quietly lands on everybody's maintenance bill.

Old meters miss slow flows

Mechanical meters are the lowest accuracy grade and go blind at a trickle. A dripping tap or a leaking float valve can run for weeks without registering.

Manual reading invites disputes

Numbers copied by hand across hundreds of homes mean skipped meters, wrong entries and arguments no one can settle without evidence.

Per-meter app fees add up

Some vendors charge a monthly fee for every meter. A home with three inlets pays three times — sometimes more than the water itself costs.

How Neerix works

Three parts, installed in phases. Nothing is dug up and no home needs rewiring.

1

Certified ultrasonic meters

Each home's existing meter is replaced in place with an ultrasonic meter — no moving parts, accurate even at a trickle, sealed to IP68 and built to last years on one battery.

2

One wireless gateway

A single long-range gateway on the community's rooftop collects readings from every meter. No SIM card per meter, no home Wi-Fi, no cabling between homes.

3

Billing and resident app

The Neerix platform turns readings into a clear monthly bill per home, sends it to residents, and accepts online payment — with usage history and leak alerts.

One home. One charge. Whatever the plumbing.

Plenty of homes have two or three separate inlets — borewell, municipal, tanker. Charging per meter punishes them for plumbing they never chose.

Neerix combines every meter in a home into a single account with a single bill, and the platform fee is per home — not per meter. The community owns the meters and the gateway, so there is no equipment to rent forever.

What the community gets

Everything needed to bill water accurately, collect it without chasing, and settle a dispute in minutes.

Accurate readings

Ultrasonic measurement that catches low flows mechanical meters miss.

Automatic monthly bills

Generated per home on a fixed date, no one walking the community.

Online & UPI payment

Residents pay from their phone; receipts reconcile automatically.

Leak & tamper alerts

Continuous flow at 3am is flagged before it becomes a huge bill.

Usage history per home

Residents see their own consumption trend, so bills stop being a surprise.

Inlet vs usage check

Total supply is compared against the sum of homes, exposing losses.

Evidence for disputes

Every install and reading is photographed and timestamped.

Defined service response

A named contact, an agreed response time, and spare meters for instant swaps.

Start small. Prove it. Then scale.

No community should commit hundreds of meters on a promise. Neerix rolls out in stages, and each stage has to earn the next.

Stage 1

Pilot — 15 to 20 homes

Meters installed, readings verified against the meter face, first bills issued. The committee sees real numbers before anything scales.

Stage 2

Gateway and automatic reading

One gateway goes live and readings arrive on their own. We compare total inlet supply against billed usage to quantify what was being lost.

Stage 3

Community-wide rollout

Remaining homes are done in batches, highest-consumption first, so savings start paying for the rollout as it goes.

Ongoing

Billing, support and maintenance

Monthly billing, resident support, meter servicing and annual maintenance under a clear written scope.

Who we work with

Villa communities

Spread-out plots where walking to read every meter is slow and homes often have more than one inlet.

Apartment complexes

Associations that want per-flat billing instead of splitting one bulk bill equally across very different households.

Builders & new projects

Metering designed in before handover, so the association inherits a working system instead of a retrofit problem.

Questions committees ask

Who owns the meters and the gateway?

The community does. You buy the hardware once and it is your asset. Neerix specifies it, installs it, and runs the billing platform and support. There is no per-meter rental and nothing is held hostage if you ever change provider.

What does it cost?

Hardware and installation are quoted as one all-inclusive price per home, based on the size of your community and the phasing you choose. The ongoing platform and support fee is charged per home, per month — never per meter. We put the full breakdown in writing before you commit to anything.

What if a resident disputes a bill?

Every meter shows its reading on the display, so it can always be checked by eye against the bill. We photograph each meter at installation and log readings with timestamps. If a meter is genuinely suspected of error, we swap in a spare immediately so the resident is never left waiting, and send the original for independent lab testing.

Does this need digging, rewiring or resident Wi-Fi?

No. Meters replace the existing ones in the same position, using the same pipe connection. The gateway is wireless and long-range, so nothing runs between homes and no resident needs to share their internet connection.

What happens if the internet or power goes down?

Meters keep measuring and store their readings regardless. Each transmission carries the full cumulative total, so once the connection returns, the correct reading arrives and no consumption is lost. Billing is never based on a guess.

How long does installation take?

A single meter takes a few minutes to swap. A pilot of 15–20 homes is usually done in a day or two, including commissioning and mapping each meter to the right home. Full rollouts are scheduled in batches to suit the community.

Where do the meters come from?

We supply meters from BIS/ISI-licensed manufacturers and share the make, model and certification details with the committee before purchase. We do not badge unbranded hardware as our own.
